This installation was planned to commemorate the first anniversary of the September 11th attacks. The freight containers were specially prepared to be identical and were positioned parallel to each other. Upon entering either container the viewer got the impression of a large void illuminated by what appeared to be a point light source in the distance was actually a miniaturised video screen on the other end.
The looped video in the first container represented the misguided conservative view of American foreign policy through the example set by the graduates of the school of the Americas at Fort Benning Georgia .
The second containers represented our preoccupation with mass culture by randomly cycling through cable channels recorded live on the first anniversary of the World Trade Center attacks. |
